[Opinions] Etheldreda
Curious to know what your opinion was on Etheldreda (strictly gp). Also, how would you pronounce it, originally I was saying Ethel-dree-duh, but looking at comments it seems the correct way is E-THEL-dreh-duh - thoughts?

This is exactly the kind of kooky, historic name that makes my day. Love it. I'd even like it as a mn. But then most GP names for me would make OK mns. I'm weird.
I've always thought it was more like "eh-thel-DRAY-duh." But did I hear it said that way in documentaries or am I just making that pronunciation up? I can't be sure.

lol, I'm the same I don't see the problem with gp's as mn's. I'm one of those people who never pronounces 'e' like 'a' (maybe it depends where you live), so DRAY duh doesn't make sense to me, but it's not bad.
Etheldreda's interesting, but it's also rather unattractive. I prn it the same way you do.
Very interesting name. I like your pronounciation better. I'd probably nickname her Elda :o) I like it!
Etheldreda 'Elda' = awesome!
I don't like the "dred" sound in it, but I would pronounce it whichever way was correct. It's kind of cool.
