I visited an old graveyard and read this on a tombstone. Yes, this was a first name, not a surname.

It's so unusual that I can't see it being something anyone would randomly come up with, so I reckon it's a family surname. It's really fun.
OT: I googled it because I am a giant nerd, and one of the first hits was for someone called Anne Spitfire Smith-Meyer. Now there's a fun middle name!

Cool! I totally have a thing for imagining older academic fellows with surnamey names. And that's a pretty awesome surname.
But I kind of contradict myself because at the same time I don't like to see kids named random surnames for no apparent reason.
I wonder where ol' Smithmeyer got his name?

OMG, me too! I can not stand random surname naming! I always think: What if someone in your family history was scorned by that family? hahaha Weird I guess but hey...
