In the mighty Kingdom of Elestria.

Relations between Elestria and Sylvain have begun to get better a bit, thanks to the successful diplomatic mission and birth of Prince Alexandre 3 years ago. They have signed treaties, exchanged gifts, and are now Allies. Elestria, needing all the help she can get, was in need of such a powerful allie. King Gustave has decreed that for every month Sylvain chooses to stand with Elestria, they shall gain a portion of the Emerald supply.
Relations with Hasteth, however, have begun to get worse. The King of Hasteth, King Julian, is angered with Elestria and is demanding that they give them the riches that they "deserve", or else suffer the consequences. Queen Alexandrine thinks that her husband, King Gustave, should pay more attention to the increasing threat of Hasteth than he does.
Shortly after Hasteth made this warning, Alexandrine gave birth to a beautiful girl named Abigail. The pregnancy was extremely painful, and Alexandrine and Gustave have decided that this will be their last pregnancy.
