Hmm, Alameda is the county where I live. I've pondered it as a name before (I love my county, and the name has a nice sound), but since it's also the name of a pretty lame city here, I've decided I don't like it too much. Alimeda I would pronounce differently--like ah-lee-MAY-dah. Alameda is al-uh-MEE-duh.
