Rafe and Day met in a park in LaVignette. Daiva was reading, and Serafim was--interestingly--walking backwards while looking at the scenery. Serafim is the native of an ally of LaVignette. He is the son of a king. It just so happens that Serafim and Daiva, though marrying for love, are also seemingly marrying for political reasons. This marriage is going to work out well. The people don't even seem to notice that Rafe and their princess are marrying for love.
