Year 1:
After an uneventful pregnancy and birth, we had our first child, a baby boy. He has wavy red hair like his mummy, but we do wonder where the hazel eyes came from. We wanted his name to be uncommon but not too weird, so we settled on Uriel Finnian. It suits him perfectly.Year 2:
The three of us went on a family holiday for the first time. We didn't want to be too far from home in case something happened, so we stayed at a nearby resort town, with lovely sandy beaches for Uriel to play in.Year 3:
This year we decided to travel again, since Uri's a bit older. Since he seems to love the outdoors so much, we decided to got to a national park, where we can be in contact with nature. It was really relaxing, but also fun!Year 4:
This year we've welcomed our second, third and fourth children! It was quite a surprise for us, as they were conceived naturally. Strangely enough, the pregnancy and birth went very well - they were born at 36 weeks, which is a feat for triplets. Johann Harvey was the first to come out, with a head full of curly black hair like his dad. His eyes are hazel like Uriel's, which is yet another mystery. His first name is after J. S. Bach, my favourite composer, and we thought Harvey went well with it. Then next was Wren Alexander, who has great lungs is looks like a clone of Josiah, with his black hair and grey eyes, although the wavy locks are courtesy of yours truly. We thought we'd use a word name for his first name, to make it more unusual, and a common name for his middle, in case he dislikes his first. Last but not least, our first little girl, Asha Bryony, was born. By this time we weren't surprised she had curly black hair, but we did marvel at her brown eyes. Genetics is a fickle thing, it seems. Josiah came up with her name on a whim, and it fit her so well we knew right away it was the right one.Year 5:
Josiah got a promotion at his job - he is now the C.E.O. of the company! How cool is that? Unfortunately it means more working hours, but with four kids to raise the extra quid sure helps. The downside is that I'll have less time to dedicate to my creations.Year 6:
The triplets are old enough to travel now, so we thought that's what we'd do. We had such a great time at the national park three years ago, that we decided to go back! All the kids loved the nature, and they seem to have had fun chasing after birds and squirrels.Year 7:
We welcomed our second set of multiples, again conceived with no external aid (am I super fertile or what?). The way we found out about this pregnancy was a bit weird: the six of us were at a carnival, enjoying ourselves, when suddenly this old gypsy lady comes up to us and takes my hand. 'Your family will soon become richer', she said. None of us knew what she meant by that, until I decided to take a pregnancy test a few days later, to either dispel or confirm some doubts we'd been having, and lo and behold! - she was right! This time it was two girls and one boy - Asha loves having little sisters! Kit William was born first, with amber eyes wide open and wisps of wavy brown hair. We came across his first name in a friend's Facebook and liked it instantly, and William is after Mr Shakespeare. Sunniva Frida came afterwards, sporting wavy red hair like mine and hazel eyes - the mysterious trait! I no longer remember where we found her first name, but it was love at first sight; her middle is after Frida Kahlo. Then Esther Clara came along. Esther is after Josiah's mother, who passed away a couple of months before the kids were born, and Clara is after Clara Schumann. She looks exactly like Sunny, so they're probably identical.Year 8:
Our old house was getting too crowded, so we moved this spring. This is what our new home looks like: http://www.pattersondesign.ca/cottages/westwindi1.jpg It's bigger than it seems!Year 9:
Our family didn't feel complete, so we decided to adopt a child from Romania. However, when a particular case was presented to us, we just couldn't sit there and do nothing, so we ended up adopting two sisters - identical twins, actually. They're only two years old, so we're hoping they settle just fine. Their names are Livia Miruna and Magdalena Lucia, and we'll be keeping them. With their bright blue eyes and blonde hair, they're a little pair of tiny, mischievous angels.Year 9:
After months and months of nagging, we gave in and got the kids a pet - an iguana. Wren suggested that it be named Roger, and everyone agreed.Year 10:
Our experience with adoption was so good, we thought we'd add a new member to the family. This time the compass pointed to Cambodia, and thanks to Maggie and Livia in particular, who really wanted more sisters, we now have three sets of identical twin girls. Chantrea Lilian and Tola Kathryn are eight months old, and from what we've been told, they were born on a full moon in October, hence their names. We're keeping them, but we gave them Western middle names in case they ever get tired of their first names. Both have straight black hair and brown eyes, and their skin is such a beautiful tone.Year 11:
The owner of the company Josiah works for is so happy with his work that he decided to give him a pay raise! Needless to say, we're all happy about this.Year 12:
Josiah went on a business trip to Hong Kong, as the company wants to expand to the local market. He stayed there for two weeks, and I felt exhausted every second of those two weeks.Year 13:
My aunt Marlena passed away last month, and she left us something in her will. That something is two million! With this much money, both Josiah and I could go on a year-long holiday. Aunt Marlena was pretty stingy, so I'm not entirely surprised she managed to amass such a great amount. Why would she leave it to me, though?Year 14:
The fashion house I work for made me their head designer! This is a dream come true - Coco Chanel has got nothing on me!Year 15:
We decided to complete the family by adopting our last children. This time they're from the island of Saint Lucia, but, to keep true to family tradition, they're identical twins. Osanne and Véronique are only two years old, but they're very cute with their curly brown hair, hazel eyes and tanned skin. We've kept both their firsts and middles.DH: Josiah Dragoslav (42)
