Gideon Lewis Oliviero: This young child of Louis and Veronica is very smart. Within three days of beginning kindergarten, Gid Vander Halt was promoted to first grade, the same grade as his big brother Bryant. The teachers of his school are beginning to think that he should be promoted to second grade. His parents aren't for or against it yet. They want their little boy to have a challenge, but they don't want to embarrass either him or Bryant. Gid is so small as it his, that he was tiny compared to the kindergarteners. Nikki is afraid that if he is moved up another grade more he will become lost in the sea of bodies. Once more, Nikki has brought up the subject of private school. She and Louis are planning to switch their kids over to a nice private school soon, as soon as they can get the papers filled out. Little Gid will be quite thankful for this. He's very shy. When they went and visited the new school, everyone smiled at him, despite the fact that he is petite and has a rather... nerdy look about him. No one once teased him, unlike at his current school.
Aloha Hyacinth Fleur: Every year on the first day of spring who is to be seen in the front yard of the Vander Halts? None other than their very own four-year-old Aloha, whom everyone calls Ally. On all of the lovely days in a year, Aloha is playing outside, watching birds and bugs, rolling in the fresh grass, smiling at the rain-washed flowers. Ally's name is very hippie-ish, and it fits her perfectly. Nikki is a little worried at times that Ally won't want to go to school next year when she is in kindergarten. Nikki is hoping that she can foster a love of learning in this hippie-ish daughter of hers.
Alexis Samuel Cassian and Noah Richelle Jessamy: By her fourth pair of twins, Veronica Vander Halt was beginning to tire out. From the very beginning of the lives of these two, Alex has been bigger than his older sister Noey. Despite this fact, Noey is the one who is always dragging her brother around. Alex is very obedient to his sister and lets her drag him into so many things that he wouldn't do if it wasn't for her coaxing. There are times though when a little bit of an independent streak shows in Alex and he refuses to do something with Noey that he doesn't want to do. Noey's eyes cloud up, and that immediately causes him to let in, though he doesn't always do whatever it is she wants in these cases. He usually says he'd "rather watch her have tons of fun doing such-and-such." Noey loves Alex, and Alex loves Noey.
Esther Hannah Joelle: Little Essie Vander Halt was named for three of Nikki and Louis' best friends. When Veronica was in school, she had a good friend named Estelle. She'd always resolved to name one of her daughters after Estelle, but had always forgotten until this adorable little girl came into the world. Estelle had a dear younger sister, Hannah, who died from cancer when she was only ten. It had caused quite a stir in the little town in which Veronica and Estelle lived. Estelle's heart was broken at the loss of her dearest sister. This caused Veronica to desire to name one of her daughters after Hannah. Now, Louis had a neighbor boy who was five years younger than he. When Louis was ten and this little child was five, the little boy passed away from injuries he received in a terrible car accident. His mother and sister died, too, leaving his father all alone with a tiny baby of four weeks old, who wasn't even named. The little girl, the father decided, would be named after her older brother (Joel), her mother (Therese), and her older sister (Margaret). Her name was Joelle Theresa Margeretta. This little girl, whom Louis' mother had taken in almost as her own (raised her almost like a twin to Louis' younger sister who was the same age as Joelle) and her older brother, Joel, are the namesake for Essie's last middle name. At the age of two, Essie hasn't spoken a word. This is only because she is very shy and her siblings, even one year old Tony, speak for her. They've all learned to do so, therefore Esther has never been given the chance to speak a word. Nikki and Louis are confident that when the time comes, this little daughter of theirs will speak up and say something.
Tony Galen Wesley: Little Tony was going to be given the name Joel (after the little girl and her brother, once more) William Alexander. On the day of his birth, Veronica took one look at her son and burst out into gasps of laughter at the thought of naming THIS son Joel William Alexander. How could she name such a child Joel William Alexander? That was just it. She COULDN'T. It wasn't possible. She and Louis decided on the name Tony Galen Wesley. This name fit him. Certainly much, MUCH better than Joel William Alexander.
Georgie Zita Xiomara: Little Georgie was a surprise to Louis and Veronica. They didn't want any more children! What a houseful they had without this little one! Either way, they wouldn't allow themselves to abort this little child or put her up for adoption, especially after seeing the gorgeous look she wore when she was born. Louis couldn't help but comment that "this little girl of ours looks like a Georgie." Nikki couldn't help but agree. They named their final child Georgie Zita Xiomara, and call her by her first middle name.

Bryant is in first grade and quite happy. It was a big surprise to him when his brother Gid joined his class. Still, he was happy his little brother was getting a challenge.
Tia is shy and quiet and withdrawn. She doesn't like school for the fact that no one seems to like her. She enjoys learning, but is not very social at all.
Ari can't believe she's in fourth grade! It seems like just yesterday to her that she was in kindergarten. Wow! The years sure have flown by...
Hattie and Cassie continue to be very communicative and enjoy each other's company.
Benny, Sandy, Percy, Aidyn, Caleb, and Josiah are doing very well. Josiah has his driver's license and his own car. Caleb, on the other hand is dragging his feet and keeps putting it off. Aidyn has his permit and can't wait to get his driver's license. Caleb doesn't care. Sandy and Percy are already reading up in the driver's manual so that they can get their permits as soon as possible. Benny is his usual self.
