Tira is a hebrew name meaning small town or encampment. what do you think about it? i would use it for a girl.

It's pretty, and I like similar names, such as Mira and Kira, but Tira reminds me of tiramisu. How about Tirzah? I really like that name.

I think Tira is the name of a character in the Soul Caliber video games series. So I think it may be unusable to me.

Definitely a girl. Cute, I guess. Although it sounds like it might fit best on a spoiled Hollywood 19-year-old.
My aunt's dog is named Tira, so I have a bit of trouble picturing it really exist on a person. Although it sounds ridiculous on a dag to me too!

Actually i had a friend who's dog's name was Tira, that's where i got the name from haha

I like how it sounds, but would immediately pronounce it ty-ra, and I asked dh and my brother and sister, and they all said the same thing.

I think I would prefer Mira.

I can see how it would be pronounced tyra, but really the only way to spell it how it sounds is Teera, which i don't think looks as nice. What's a dh?

I think it's really pretty. It's also a latinised version of Thyra, another name I've always loved.
