love Evander, but there's annoying boxer in the UK by that name that ruins it.

Evan works, as does Van or Ander. But I'd just use the whole name.

Evander Holyfield is the one who first brought the name to my attention, and he's part of the reason I love it. Now I despise boxing, and would never willingly watch one minute of it---but I don't find Holyfield annoying at all--as I said, he's part of the reason I love the name. That is one good-looking and sexy SOB.

Wait a minute--you said the UK and Evander Holyfield is American---are we talking about two different people, or was that a typo?

Alois Evander was my favorite combo for a while. I love Evander, and Evan does work for a middle name.

I really like it, and I think that Evan works as a nickname. I'm kind of surprised that Evander isn't more popular than it is considering how close it is to popular names like Evan and Alexander.

The reason why I like Evander so much is because it has a similar feel to Evan but is far less popular. I am surprised that it isn't popular already, but I have a feeling it will become more so in the future.

I really like Evander! Evan works as a nickname, but if it were my son I think I'd stick to using the full name most of the time.

It's also my favorite male name at the moment! I think it just overtook Cassius. It's strong, handsome, and sexy! I think Evan works just fine as a nickname, but I'd try to call him by the full name.
