[Opinions] Litany
I used to ADORE this name when I was younger, maybe 13 or so. I had a book on psychic stuff written by a Litany and I just thought it was the most gorgeous name ever. I cooled towards it considerably over the years but it still catches my eye on the shelf now and then - it is at the very least, an unexpected name. WDYT of Litany?

It's kind of fun, in a gloomy way. I actually found a real live Litany in the UK births! - well, maybe not so much with the live, as she was born in 1880.

It's definitely interesting, but I think it would only work as an alias for a Goth girl, sorry. :)

I admit the sound is pleasant but I immediately think of complaints or religion. ;-)

Nope.Litany brings to mind two things: A litany of complaints and a litany from a church. I can understand Vesper, Praise & Selah, but not litany.

It's pretty sounding. I wouldn't use it because to me it has religious, particularly Catholic, overtones and I'm not religious. Of course, the word litany can be used outside of a religious contexts...such as, "She had a litany of complaints", but there is still the prayer association attached to it. But if one doesn't have that objection, it's a very pretty word name.

Ditto bothMy dad uses a lot of litanies in his services and my mom always uses the word "litany" with complaints and what-not. It's too much of a word.

I hadn't thought of it before but I like it.
