I think Matilda is going to become a lot more popular in the next few years. That said I like it, though I think I prefer Matilde (the Spanish version), and Mafalda has a lot going for it too. I certainly like it more than Theodora and Alice (Matilda and Alice each recall the fictional "original" character quite a bit on their own, more so together.) Matilda Frances is a little stuffy but sweet. I would probably match Matilda with something that's either not English, or not little old lady style. Matilda Noemie, Matilda Niamh, Matilda Parthenope, Matilda Firenze.
