[Opinions] Aleksi
I really like just Lex as a middle name for our boy due in May. However, it seems somewhat short to me. I do not like Alexander at all and since my grandmother is 100% Finnish I was considering Aleksi as a less nick-namey mn. Since I live in America do you think most people will think he has a girl middle name? Also it is pronounced Aw-LEX-see right? If not could you guide me to the right way of saying it?
Also what first name would you pair with this middle name?
Thanks for all your help.
Cynthia

I love the name Aleksi. We are most likely using it for a middle name for our son due in May, but we decided on the spelling Alexei since we have alot of k's in our name.

I love it! I prefer the spelling Aleksei, though. I don't think Aleksi is a girly middle name at all! Alexis might be (incorrectly) considered a girl's name, but I really doubt Aleksi would be.Joseph Aleksi

I think Aleksi is handsome and very masculine-sounding. As for the pronunciation, I would guess it's close to the Russian Aleksey which is pronounced "al-ehk-SAY". I recommend getting the attention of Caprice, Elphi, Charlie Blue or Ylva. They're Swedish and Danish, respectfully, so they might have some better insight as the the Finnish pronunciation of Aleksi. As for middle names, how about:Aleksi Nicolas
Aleksi Julian
Aleksi Fyodor
Aleksi George _____

I don't think it looks feminine at all, and I would definitely rather see a name like that used properly (as you plan to honor your heritage) rather than, hey look at this cool name that I can use Alex as a nn for in my American suburb.Anyway, I think it's a good boy's name. Do you plan to call him Lex as a nn?
