I think about this name a lot, because I san't decide if I like it or hate it. I can't decide if it should go on my Ugly Name list. What do you think of Stina?

I think it should go on the ugly list, sorry. It looks too much like the word "sting", and I don't think that makes for a very nice name.

Kinda off topic but I know a girl named Justina and her nickname is Stina.

Aw, I don't know, it's not really ugly enough. If it was Stinka, now we're talking.

Reminds me of the word "sting", so it naturally reminds me of bee stings. I don't care for it.

I think it's kind of cute, but in Sweden it's often a nickname for Kristina and much associated with little irritating Stina from Astrid Lindgren's Saltkråkan (Seacrow Island). I definitely don't find it ugly, anyway, but I guess I'm biased since it's a Swedish name.

I quite like it, but prefer it as a nickname. It's the only Kristina nickname I like.

I like it very much. I think it's got an 1800th - 1900th century feeling because it was very common here during that time period (usually as a nn for Christina). I think sisters named Stina, Kerstin and Lisa would be soooo cute.

But aren't Stina and Kerstin sort of the same name? Like English sisters named Lizzie and Beth? That's neat that it has an old-fashioned feel to it for you - I like that!

I like it! I'd say it deserves a spot on that list.

Stina LisaA family name that my mom is always suggesting. :-D I really don't care for it, family name or not. It's just too short and doesn't have a pleasant sound to me.

I just don't like Stina. I keep wondering where the 'Chris' part is. It looks wrong, it sounds wrong. It also makes me think of words such as 'stink' and 'stingy.'

I have a Stina, a Stine, and a Stinne in my close circle of friends, so I only think good things about this name. It definitely doesn't belong on a list for ugly names...

I know a few Stina's. One of them is really mean and it is probabl because of her I dislike the name. The other one is a relative (or well, her real name is Christina, but everyone calls her Stina)

I think the reason I have an "ugly" feeling about it is because it reminds me of the word "stink".

yesand now once I've thought of that, I can't get it out of my mind! Poor Stina.

I'm going to be completely honest - I don't like it. It makes me think of bee sting.I woudn't say it's "ugly" though.

I wouldn't say it is ugly. There is a Stanja at my school. It might be spelled differently, but it is pronounced STAHN-yuh.
