It works somehow. And for whatever reason, Prosper and violets are synonymous to me, so it actually makes sense as a feminine name. In fact Prosper Violet could be a nice combo.

I like Prosper in general. I suppose I could get used to it on a girl... it would have to be a shy, skinny, tomboyish girl though. With brown hair. Otherwise it wouldn't fit :P

I like it, but on a boy. On a girl, not so much.

If the borrowing went in both directions I wouldn't mind so much. But once a name gets used by parents of little girls, it rarely (if ever) goes back.

Nnnggg. I don't know. It seems strictly masculine, although being a word it certainly could be considered unisex. But I can't really picture it on a girl.
