It always reminded me of a monkey.

I don't like it. It looks and sounds odd.

When I was a checker at KMart YEARS ago, I had a woman in my line who called her 3/4 year old daughter Topanga. I said to her, "Oh, like from 'Boy Meets World'! I like that show." She gave me a dirty look, took her receipt, and pushed her cart away.

Personally, I think if you're going to give your child a name so closely tied with a certain TV show or celebrity, you should be prepared for that sort of thing. Why she got angry, I'll never know.

I've never seen Boy Meets World, but I googled it and it says Topanga and not Tapanga... I think I could grow to like it. I've never really seen it before though.
