[Opinions] Thoughts on Padraic?
My husband likes Padraic, but only if pronounced "Pad" not "Paw". I like it, too. Also like the nn Paddy.

It's all right, but I prefer Patrick.

Padraic has a lovely soft sound that I think is much more attractive than Patrick. I pronounce it pad (not paw) too but I don't know if that's the correct pronunciation. I also imagine that the -raic part is pronounced more softly than -rik in Patrik but again I don't know if that's correct.
I can't stand Paddy though. I think it's a terrible nickname that ruins Padraic completely.

Love it! My favorite spelling, and I like it pronounced that way better, too. I love Patrick, and if we were more Irish I'd totally spell it that way for a kid. It has the same wonderful feel as Patrick, but it's a bit rougher, and I like how calm it looks. I would majorly squee if I ever met one in real life!

I like it!! Much better than Patrick IMO. I don't like Paddy as much (isn't that sang for Irish?) but I like Padraic a lot.

Isn't that just (pronouncing it as Pad) Patrick said funny though?
Why no just use Patrick?
