[Opinions] Luca
Lately I've been adoring the name Luca (for a boy). I do like Lucas, but prefer Luca. I might use the nickame Luke. WDYT? Is it too feminine? Middle names?

I love the name Luca for a boy! I hate it for a girl, so I don't find it feminine at all. I much prefer it without a nn too. Here are a few combo suggestions:Luca Jesse
Luca Bennett
Luca Benjamin
Luca Vincent
Luca Charlie
Luca Daniel
Luca Darcy
Luca Henry
Luca Nathaniel
Luca Maxwell
Luca Sebastian
Luca Samuel
Luca James
Luca Jeremy
Luca Felix

I love Luca, though I think I prefer Luka. I go back and forth on this, but Luka tends to look like the more boyish spelling to me--and it's one of the few names I love the look of the K in.In any case, it's certainly masculine enough for a boy and doesn't need a nickname. If you went with one, though, I'd go with Luc/Luk rather than Luke; the E on the end makes it look like a whole other name (which, of course, it is) rather than a nickname. If I had a kid named Luka, I'd probably call him Lucky, myself--but I don't expect that to be a popular option around here.Let's see...Luca/Luka middle names. Luka Joseph
Luka Theodore
Luka Desmond
Luka Vincent
Luka Victor
Luka Niles
Luka William
Luka Wilde
Luka Francis
Luka John
Luka Martin
Luka Willard
Luka HenryI have a hard time coming up with very Julia-ish names, ha. I tried to stick with the straight and narrow of traditional boy names, but it's simply not something I can do. ;)Array
"Phineas. That's an interesting name."
"Yeah. It's Latin for 'kick me'."

Thank you! It's fine; I have a lot of problems coming up with Array-ish names, so we're even. You did quite well! I do like Luka too, but it looks tryndee and he'd always be saying "No, it's Luka with a K, not a C".I like:
Luca Joseph
Luca Theodore (I've always hated Theodore, but this is lovely)
Luca William
Luca John

I adore the name Luca, I also like Lucas but Luca is more beautiful.
But I would never use it because it is HORRIBLY popular here in Germany, one of the Top 5 names for boys under 10...But if it is not that popular where you live (or if you don't care about popularity), I would definitely use it !I love Luca Jonathan, Luca Matteo/Matthew, Luca Elias, Luca Benjamin, Luca Timothy, Luca Finley, Luca Constantin, Luca Milo, Luca Miles, Luca Owen, Luca William, Luca Samuel, Luca Romeo...

I don't think Luca sounds feminine at all. To me, it sounds like a nice Italian boy's name.Using Luke as a nickname for Luca is do-able, however it doesn't sit right with me. It's like using the nickname Kate for a Catherine. For Luca, I think Luc would look better, but it's about personal preferences. :)As for middle names, I once favoured Luca Olivier after the brilliant actor. I'm not so sure of your style of names, so I can't give an opinion at the moment._____

Luca's not feminine at all IMO. When I hear the name Luca I think of the guy on E.R...
and I wonder
when I sing along with you
if everything could ever feel this real forever
if anything could ever be this good again

Thank you! I don't watch ER at all, so that's not a problem for me.

I like Luca (or Luka). It reminds me of the good-looking Croatian doctor in E.R. (his real fn is Goran). I know Luca is a male name, so it does not sound feminine to me. Though there is always a risk that ignorant people would. But is this really a problem, since he could go by the nn Luke if he wants to?If his surname is long, I would use a short mn (Luca James, Luca Miles, Luca John etc.) If his surname is short, I would use a long mn (Benjamin, Jonathan, Sebastian, Gregory etc.)"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

Thank you!I'm not married yet (considering I'm 14, this is a good thing), so I don't know how long the surname will be yet. I love Luca James, Luca John, Luca Benjamin, and Luca Jonathan, though.
