You should check out the comments for Rebeccanne. The hatred for it is absolute! I'm thinking of adding it to my Ugly Names list, because I personally love it. It seems more dark-New World than cheesy modern to me, but maybe I'm just being silly.

Ew. I think it should continue to be shunned. God, that's even worse than my own sumushed-with-Ann first name. What's wrong with Rebecca Ann(e)?

It's a total b*tch to pronounce. Where is the emphasis? reBECCan? rebeCAN? Oh dear. It's not even cheesy. But it can be very dark indeed:

It is such a glorious trainwreck, with all those double letters cannoning into each other. It deserves a special pedestal all of its own so we can all gawp at it some more. I think I'd pronounce it re-beckon, like I have already becccannned you and now I'm gonna beccannne you some more.

I find it kind of Puritan-esque and because of that, it is kind of neat. I definitely don't hate it.

It's so bizarre to me that Rebeccanne and Sarahjeanne are in the database. Why would those two smushed names get accepted when nobody's really ever heard of them? It's not like they're common smushings like Maryjane or whatever. I mean theoretically you could just smush any two female names together you wanted and add it to the database as English (Rare).

The double letters are what I don't like. It makes the name look awkward :(
I like REH-bec-ANNE, but when I see it I stumble a little trying to say re-BEC like in Rebecca.
