[Opinions] Tannenbaum
I have been thinking about it and I think I really love Tannenbaum as a middle name for a boy! What combos can you come up with?
The best I could do was Benjamin Tannenbaum.

Sorry, but if the boy should ever go to a german
speaking country they will all joke about him
cos Tannenbaum is the german word for fir tree.
The song "oh christmas tree" is in german
"oh tannenbaum"
I wouldn't think it's fair to let a child bear such
a name.

Well, people name thier children Aspen and Fir and Maple and Evergreen, Tannenbaum is no different really. Beside that, it would be the middlename, not the first. No one would know his middle name unless he told them.
Yes, except they read it loudly at student meetings
what they often do and everybody is laughing about him.
I wouldn't do it. I also do not know anyone
named Fir or Maple or Evergreen.

Definite NO WAY from me but it wouldn't be legal where I live anyway ;)
Yes!
Tannenbaum is so dramatic! I love it (and, I love the movie). :)
Benjamin Tannenbaum is glorious.

I think dramatic is the best word yet I have heard to describe it! Thank you!
I find it silly, sorry, though I tollerate just about anything in the mn position.
No need to be sorry! It is kind of silly really. I am just finding that I like it lately. I'm sure that next week I will be back to thinking it's as silly as you do!
Haha, glad I'm not the only one. I'm pretty sure I've seen it as a surname, though.
I'm really intrigued by that idea, but I also agree with Kellie that there's just something not entirely appealing about the word itself. It's definitely the "baum" part. Too close to bum, perhaps.
But Benjamin Tannenbaum is a pretty awesome combo. I don't think I could come up with a better one. I think it needs a name that feels Christmasy, so like... Christopher Tannenbaum or Nicholas Tannenbaum are my only other ideas.

Ok, thanks. I think you are right but I can't think of anything either... I was thinking something "round" sounding...
I'm not one to shy away from word names, but I don't really like this one at all. I don't find the sound appealing, and I think it's pretty weird to have the middle name "Christmas tree". It's not really a bad thing but it just seems like such a random word. Then again, I'm the one talking about January as a name, which proves that names aren't really something you can easily rate by principle alone :) Still, it's just really not my cup of tea.
Benjamin Tannenbaum does have a good flow, however.

I have to say that I would have agreed with you before yesterday... I don't know what swayed me!
