UN: LadyBug
Country: Norway
DH: HRH Christian Jakob Viktor, Prince of Norway (34)
DW: HM Queen Ellinor Alexandra Ingrid, of Norway (32)
DS: HRH Friedrich Christian Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway (8)
DD: HRH Princess Ingrid Alexandra Viktoria (6)
DS: HRH Prince Sebastian Petter Jakob (4)
DD: HRH Princess Margrethe Ellinor Astrid (nb)
Two years after the birth of Sebastian Petter the royal family experienced two losses in their family within a two month span. First Queen Ellinor had a miscarriage and secondly her mother Queen Margrethe passed away. Even though it was very early in the pregnancy Ellinor and Christian were quite excited about having a fourth child and the loss of this unknown baby threw Ellinor into a bit of a depression. Then just a month later her mother suddenly became very ill and died. Her death took the royal family and the country by surprise and they all heavily mourned the well loved former Queen's passing. For almost 6 months after those two losses Ellinor was thrown into a deep depression in which she was barely able to get out of bed in the morning. Prince Christian and her ministers took over a lot of responsibility running the country. Gradually with the support of her family Ellinor came out of those very dark days and started taking back her responsibilities as Queen. When she found out she was pregnant again Ellinor was fearful of losing another baby. With the help of her doctors and her husband the pregnancy went very well and a little princess was born. The names they chose for this new little one are very special: Margrethe after her deceased grandmother, Ellinor for her mother and Astrid which means 'beautiful' and was the name her parents had hoped to use for the baby who was miscarried. Princess Margrethe Ellinor is growing strong and healthy and is a beautiful happy baby. Princess Ingrid Alexandra is so excited to have a baby sister and the boys are pretty protective of her. Ellinor and Christian feel so blessed to have such a sweet family and to have gotten through those dark days!
