[Opinions] Muriel
What do you think of Muriel? I'm quite liking it lately.
Oh and how do you pronounce it? I pronounce it MYUR-ee-el.

One of my favorites
I adore the name Muriel. I pronounce it the same way you do. I fell in love with it watching "Muriel's Wedding." The way her sister Joan says, "You're terrible, Murrrrrriel," with the Aussie accent is so endearing. How could I help it?
I love the meaning and even prefer the Muirgheal spelling, although I completely understand wanting the user-friendly Muriel version.
By the way, you may like Muir for a boy. It's exactly like the first syllable of Muriel. Muir Matheson was a conductor for films in the 1940's. I used to see his name in the credits all the time and was fascinated by it.

I like it. It's one of those old-lady-ish names that sound nice, once you say it over and over again.
That's what I think too. :) I think it has a very lovely sound.
