Message: "Danylo" - Behind the Name

My brother-in-law is of Russian heritage and has always wanted to use the name Danylo to honor his heritage and his great-grandfather. My sister is apprehensive because she fears that their son would be made fun of. I suggested Danyil as an alternative. I looked it up and Danylo means "possessor of the world". So what do you think of Danylo?

I prefer Danilo and don't see a problem with it.

Most likely he'd be called Dan. I don't see a problem with it.

I dislike the look of Danylo, but I adore Danilo (dah-NEE-low).

im not a big fan of the "O" at the end and im not even totally sure how to pronounce it! i kind of like Danyil though! but then, why not just Daniel?
i personally love love love the name Daniel :]
