[Opinions] Irving...
This is really tragic, but I seriously only just picked up Christina Aguilera's Back To Basics album (it was like 10 bucks, and I only had a couple of singles...)... anyway, in her thank you's, there was the name Irving... and I really like it, so what do people think? What combo's would you use? Prefer to stay a last name, or okay with the first name?
Currently I have Irving Theodore, as a character, because his 'mothers' maiden name was Irving, and his fathers name was Theodore :)

I like Irving. It has bite. It's salty. I don't mind it as first name at all.Irving Theodore is really sweet. I must admit I've never thought of any Irving combos before - I've always been more of an Ingmar kinda person. Irving Berlin's taken though, right? Darn.

I think of Irving Thalberg (sp?), Hollywood producer who died too young. He was married to Norma Shearer (sp?). Sad.The second thing I think of is Washington Irving. I visited his house (Sunnyside) in Tarrytown, NY (although I think the name of the town has been changed to Irvington). I highly recommend going there if you're in the neighborhood. They've preserved the homestead wonderfully. So I have very positive associations with the name. (It kind of reminds me of Stirling Castle too.) Irving Theodore is a great combo. Very natural together. Others you might like:Irving Robert
Irving Alistair
Irving Thomas
Irving Roderick
Irving Hawthorne (too American lit?)
Irving Makepeace
Irving Ivanhoe
Irving Alhambra (extra points to anyone who gets this reference)
Irving Matthias
Irving Lawrence
Irving Noel

Irving Scott
Irving Nicholas
