I've seen that preview a few times as well. And I've liked the name for a while, but now I'm getting conflicting ideas on how it's actually pronounced. I'm not sure how they say it in the movie, but at the end of the preview I saw, the announcer said it as "ee-ZOLD", which I don't really care for. It's too close to saying something or someone 'is old'. :b If it is or can be pronounced like ih-SOLE-dah, though, I like that better. lol...But maybe that would be Isolda? ~Heather~

I liked that pronunciation of it (ee-ZOLD).

I can only think of Tristan and Isolde when I hear it so I've never even considered using it. It's a pretty name, just too closely linked for me.

I think Isolde is beautiful but it sounds rather dramatic.I love Is-names, like Isabel, Isadora, Isis, Iselin ..."But it’s all right now.
I learned my lesson well.

So you got to please yourself."

I think Isolde is a very old-fashioned name - it sounds like an old lady.

It's not a bad name, but it's not something I would use :)

A bit too tragic for me, but with all the Tristans running around, it would certainly be amusing to have an Isolde who actually had a proper life with her Tristan. ;) I honestly don't really like the name, even though I know I should. It's going to be way too precious after the movie comes out, and it's such a pain to pronunce; I always say IH-zohl-dee, but in the film it's ih-ZOLD, and on this website it's everything else.As a completely unnecessary aside, I always thought it'd be interesting if someone reworked the legend of Tristan and Isolde for YA audiences as a romance between two teenage girls, since there are plenty of female Trystyns running around. But then, I'm the same person who thinks that Romeo and Julius or Romy and Juliet would be equally genius ideas. Array
"Phineas. That's an interesting name."
"Yeah. It's Latin for 'kick me'."

I guess great minds think alike, lol. I've often thought that changing up the genders/sexes of historic and/or fictional characters in a love story would be a great idea. :b~Heather~

Although I would never use it I think it is very pretty, and I love the meaning!

It's different, I never heard it before, I don't think I'd ever use it, but I like the sound of it. :-)
