It feels less cumbersome and rolls off my tongue better. Also, I'd call her Thea so it makes more sense for me. Having said that, I do like Dorothea -- just not as well. And also, I really find Dorothy to be quite frumpy and dated and well, Dorothea is just Dorothy with an 'a.' IOW, people would hear Dorothy first before they realize it's Dorothea. ;-)
