I've never seen this variant before. But I love it because it brings to mind my beloved, regal Eugenia and gives her an air of mystery. :-) Thanks for the new name!
Yevgenia / Evgenia, nn Evie, is darling. I know the vowel sounds are different. But I have no problem with Evelyn, nn Evie. So I don't see why Yevgeniya / Evgenia should be any different.
At first, I thought the title was Evdokiya ("ev-duh-KEE-yuh"), a variant of Eudoxia / Eudocia. You might like that one as well.
