I think it sounds like a kind of spread you put on toast... sorry. I did name a hypothetical city Marjolijn, so when I see Marjolaine I think of that, and that's not a bad association. It works with the NN Lainey if you're not pronouncing it the French way (that's the way I would pronounce it, but that's just because I speak French).

Oh my, it's Leliana's rival who wants Leliana dead. Not a good thing in my opinion.

Marjolaine is a little bit too frilly and long for my tastes. You would have to pair it with a really short and sweet name to balance it out a little bit. Lainey is quite a sweet nickname, but I would choose Jolie as a nickname.

I really like Marjolaine! I definitely prefer Margery / Marjorie, though.

Marjolaine is pronounced [mahr-zho-LEN], so the Lainey nickname makes no sense IMO.

I like floral names, but I'm not sure how this would work in an English speaking context. I'd rather see Marjorie.

One the one hand it's a cool sounding, artsy French name. Great. But on the other hand it's confusing because my eyes register, "Mary Jo Lanie."
