Charming......and not a joke at all, in my book. Of course I love Dorinda too. I'm aware Clarissa isn't well-liked here, but I've got a 3rd great grandmother named Clarissa Jane and grew up hearing about her, so I've always liked her name and had positive associations with it.Clarinda Leonor and Clarinda Rosalie are my favorites from your list. :)

It is pretty, but I prefer Clarissa.

Clarinda feels like Glinda the Witch of the North's sister.

You almost got me with the nn darling Lindy. And I love many, many frumpy and whimsical names. But I can't get the dreaded Clarissa (~~shudders~~) out of my mind. She casts a long, ugly shadow for me. It's a personal quirk. I've just always hated the name Clarissa. So Clarinda is out of luck with me, sorry.I know that's not fair to poor Clarinda. So I'll think about it with an open mind and see if I can't get Clarinda into a better place.

Aw, Clarinda nn Lindy, how dahhling. I like this name, it is sparkly like a wineglass and cheerful and active and knows that it's silly.Of your combos, Clarinda Violet, Clarinda Maud, Clarinda Mary, Clarinda Margery, Clarinda Marianne, Clarinda Mabel, Clarinda Lilac, Clarinda Juliet, Clarinda Hesper, Clarinda Florence, Clarinda Frances, Clarinda Polly, Clarinda Pearl, and Clarinda Opal strike me as the most successful. The similar but daintier Clarette has been on my mind, ever since the random name generator came up with it for me. Isn't it cute?

Clarinda reminds me of a bookish woman who wears clunky shoes and little hats. She isn't the prettiest woman, but she is adorable in her own way. :)I like:Clarinda Pearl
Clarinda Maude
Clarinda Mary
Clarinda Mabel
Clarinda Lucille
Clarinda Joan
Clarinda Jane
Clarinda Iris
Clarinda Ethel
Clarinda Hazel
Clarinda Harriet
Clarinda Charlotte
Clarinda BeatriceFunny how the not-so-pretty names sound striking next to Clarinda, isn't it? ;)
