[Opinions] Stepford
Stepford as a (male) name - could it work? Or is it too evocative of "Stepfather"?

Besides the Stepford Wives it also reminds me of Oprah's Stedman.

I think it would work as a male name but he'd have to turn out a lawyer (at least in my head, lol) and it should be his middle name which he goes by. Something like G. Stepford lawyer-y-surname :)

It reminds me of the Stepford Wives. It's not usable in my mind due to that association I have with it.

I'll echo the chorus of "Stepford Wives." Weird, weird movie.

The first thing I thought of was the "Wives". I don't really get "Stepfather" from it, even after reading your question. If it was a family surname I wanted to honor, I'd have no problem using it as a given name for a boy, but I'd probably relegate it to middle namehood.Sherlock feels more like a usable first name to me than this does. :)

I suppose it could work. It reminds me of "stepfather", though. And Stephen and Ford and Stafford. If I met one I'd probably think it was a family surname or something.
