[Opinions] Gilberte

I think Gilberte is an ultra-elegant, sophisticated name. They may not have much in terms of material possessions in Haiti, but boy do they know how to name babies, at least this one.
I would have thought it was, "zheel-BEHRT." But she says it with a hard "g" so is it, "ghil-BEHRT," "GHIL-bert" or some other way? Just curious.

She pronounced it GHIL-bert.
I really don't like Gilbert, and Gilberte is pronounced like gill-bert-ah, right? Sort of like Robert and Roberta? Meh... Gilbertine may be kind of nice as a MN only...
I'm not too fond of Gilberte. I prefer Gilbertine. Gilly would make for a really cute nickname.
In this case, it was pronounced the same way as Gilbert.
Especially because it follows the types of Clemente, it is not very usable.
Clemente is just a little odd to me as a first name, and the names are quite similar with the -te ending that is attached to an old style name. The same occurs with Gilberte. Gender set aside, both names are giving me disturbing images of what I call the lesser French names.
