What do you think of this name? I prefer the pronunciation: all-see-PAY which is how my husband (native Spanish-speaker) would pronounce it. I really like the sound of it but I am not sure if this name is usable.
While I am aware there are some tragic figures in Greek mythology who bore this name, I am quite sure the majority of people wouldn't know this. Also, not ALL of the figures who bore this name were tragic. I happen to like the meaning of the name "mighty mare".
What would you think of you met a little Alcippe?
What combos would you suggest using Alcippe as a first name?

I didn't know it meant "mighty mare"! That's an awesome meaning!
Tragic characters are sometimes good namesakes... and as you said, not all of them are tragic.
If I met one I'd think her parents were Greek mythology nerds as well as namenerds. In other words, awesome. :P
