I absolutely love Daphne, it's one of my top names. To me it brings to mind a lighthearted but determined girl with a wide array of talents.
Also, there is this AWESOME tiny animal that lives in pond water called a Daphnia. I hope this doesn't put you off the name because really, it's AWESOME:

They ARE awesome!
All the girls at my university love them. They are cultivated in little artificial ponds at our biology department and the students get to watch and feed them under the microscope.

Is that thing visible to the naked eye? Do you swallow that thing if you go swimming in a pond?

You swallow them and then you're immune to evil

Yes, Daphnia is visible to the naked eye if you look closely and if there is enough food in the water which makes their bodies less transparent. You do swallow them swimming in a pond if they are in it but they are completely harmless and soooo cute under the microscope. You might know them as "water fleas".
