[Opinions] Mordecai
What are your thoughts on Mordecai? Do you think it would be a good FN or better in the MN slot?
It's a name DH really likes and it's starting to grow on me as well, so much so that I'm seriously considering it for a future son.
WDYT of my combos so far (I won't be too offended if you don't like them, I don't like my own combos half the time)? If you have suggestions that would be awesome but not necessary.
Mordecai Ambrose
Mordecai Damien
Mordecai Elijah
Casper Mordecai
Thorsten Mordecai
Leander Mordecai

I heart Mordecai. I could easily use it for real on a future son. Great name, unsual, nice story behind it too.
Although I plan to use Esther as a mn to honour my Mormor (mum's mum in Danish) so on second thoughts, perhaps not!
I like Mordecai Elijah and Casper Mordecai. The rest sound off to me.
Mordecai Ezra
Mordecai Luca
Mordecai Felix
Mordecai Patrick
Mordecai Noah
Mordecai Oscar
Ezra Mordecai
Asa Mordecai
Arthur Mordecai
Abel Mordecai
Isaiah Mordecai
Kieran Mordecai

I'd prefer it as a mn, with fn either Thorsten or Damien. Wouldn't Torsten be easier for the public?
A nn for Mordecai could be Cai. But it needs one. As it stands, it comes across as leaden-footed and homicidal, at least to my ears and eyes.

I like it very much. Got that eighteenth and nineteenth century flavor I like so well. Established and Biblical and all that. Deserves a resurrection. Was the name of one of Abraham Lincoln's uncles, Uncle Mord, whom Lincoln said ran away with all of the talent in the family.
I like it. I'm surprised it's not more common, since Biblical boys' names are all the rage.

I really enjoy Mordecai. It's so dark, yet in a soft, creamy way, not a spiky-and-scary way.
I quite like Leander Mordecai and Mordecai Ambrose. So classy and formal. I also looove Casper Mordecai and Mordecai Damien (though I think Damien Mordecai has better flow) - I will say though that these run the risk of looking purposefully dark (Goth-like). If you like that, then it's great (hey, I like it too). But be aware that they do look engineered to be "spooky".
I think Mordecai Ambrose is my fave. Two beautiful and rare names together at last, just my cup of tea.

I love Mordecai
probably my second favorite boys name. Sadly, my boyfriend doesn't like it.
I like it in both positions, I think it works in both. Personally I'd use it as a FN, but only because it's my second favorite name, right?
I really like all the Mordecai [middle name] combos. I don't care for the [first name] Mordecai combos, but just because the first names chosen are not my style.

Mordecai Simon
Mordecai Alexis
Mordecai David
Mordecai Aven
Mordecai Isaac
Quinn Mordecai
Lucas Mordecai
Emerson Mordecai
Edward Mordecai

Dang. I really really want to like Mordecai. What a cool and different full name to go with the nickname Cai. But the Mord part is just too death-y for me. Maybe, with time, I could get over it. So I guess I'd have to say middle name for now.
I love Casper Mordecai. I think the "k" sound works nicely.
