I think it's too short as a full name, for me anyways.
I think it would be weirder for someone to be named May because they were born in May than if they were not.
I love Mabel nn May, very cute!
The only person I knew of named May (well, it was Mae) was my husbands great grandmother, so she would have been born in the very early 1900's.
