[Opinions] Re: Margot
Sometimes I really like it. It topped my list during my beginning namenerd days, until I mentioned this to my mother, who immediately put on a screeching Bostonian accent and crowing "MAAAAAAAAAAHgo MAAAAAAAHgo Get in heeah MAAAAGo." Apparently I have a cousin named Margeaux that I didn't know about, and her mother has an unpleasant accent. "Well, I think it's pretty," I protested lamely. "You wouldn't if you heard aunt whatever say it!" chortled my mum. So now I have a hard time liking it as much as I want.I don't think it'll get trendy, at least not like Willow and Shiloh, for 3 primary reasons: a. "Mar" still isn't fashionable (Marcy, Martin, Marge - although I guess things like Marjorie are fashionable among certain circles) b. It looks like "maggot," which will put it off the lists of anyone who asks their friends and family about names c. it has that nice clumpy "arg" sound in the middle, which most people don't have the courage to embrace.
