She's probably from my neck of the woods. Gordana and Gordon, despite their phonetic similarity, aren't related names.
Gordana is ok, but I prefer Gorana or Goranka.

I like Gordon for a boy. But I don't find Gordana appealing for a girl. It reminds me of gorging down food. I should have that reaction to Gordon too, but for some sexist reason I don't. :-(

I do like Giordana / Jordana, however.

I like Gordon and I think Gordana is ok.

All I see is "Gorda" (fat), but then again I'm a Portuguese speaker. It's the same reason why I don't like Gordon.
