[Opinions] Dascha
WDYTO Dascha (like Sascha with a D) for a girl? It is not in the name database, so I'm not sure if it is even a name, but I heard it the other day and I really like it.

I know a few Russian girls named Dariya and Darina that go by Dasha. I think it's lovely, although something about the 'c' in the name makes me think it's masculine. I would like it better as Dasha.

I mentioned the other day that a girl who works at a local fast food place has the name Dasha. I like it, especially the way it is pronounced, but I imagine it is open to some teasing about dashing around, daschunds etc.

It reminds me of Daschunds. I wouldn't use it.

Agree with the Dachshund comment...but I'd use Dasha as a nickname for Dariya. Only spelled Dasha, though.

I've heard it as well, I think it must be a Russian nn for Daria or some other D- name. It's cute, though I'm slightly bugged by the fact that "technically" it's a nickname.

Dasha (spelled this way, just like it's Sasha in the original) is a Russian diminutive of Daria/ Darya. I've met quite a few and it's also a popular name for dogs here (in Croatian it's spelled Daša).
I quite like it spelled Dasha or Daša, but prefer it as a nickname.
