[Opinions] Re: Oda
in reply to a message by Orsino
Odo is one of my all time favorite GPs for a boy. If only I was a medieval mother. Oh, the names I could use!
Oda? I've never seen / heard it before, but it makes perfect sense. It lacks the symmetry of Odo, but I can see the appeal. It is beginning to put me in mind of an odalisque (= harem). But I doubt many people would ever have heard of that.
Hmmm. Something more conventional, but not too predictable *:
Oda Gabrielle
Oda Seraphine
Oda Marguerite (Wait. Now I'm getting "eau de marguerite")
Oda Beatrice
Oda Cecily
Oda Muriel
Oda Gwendolen
Good luck with that. Oda is one difficult fn to find a mn for.
* I would avoid any mn that is also a noun. I kept trying to use things like Oda Constance or Oda Prudence. But "Oh, the constance!" and "Oh, the prudence!" kept coming into my head. So yeah. No nouns for mns. And nothing French or it sounds like a cologne. A tricky one, Oda is.
