[Opinions] Broderick
Me and my family went to a basketball awards ceremony not long ago, and when they listed the names of the players one was named "Broderick". Personally? I do not like it. It's like some weird combo of Brody and Roderick, both of which I dislike. Anyway... wdyt?

I prefer it to Roderick, which shortens far too easily to the indecent Rod ... and if pushed, I'd guess that it's probably something like ap Roderick, in the same way that Pritchard is ap Richard.Brody is close to the bottom of every imaginable list!

Well Broderick is a legitimate name to me, not a combination of Brody & Roderick. It is a surname turned first name. It is an ok name. It is very preppy & snotty to me though.

I prefer Roderick over Broderick. Broderick is a bit too Brod-sounding and not enough Rick!

Broderick is too surnamey for me, but I love Roderick. Now there's an underappreciated gem of a name for a boy.

For some reason, it seems so "soap opera prince"-like. I can just imagine someone in a soap opera saying to her boyfriend/husband, "Broderick, don't you love me!?" or something of the sort.

It's just a surname to me.
