[Opinions] Lydwine
I was browsing Catholic.org's database of saints and clicked on the saint of the day. For information: http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=232Thoughts? It's not my style but I thought a few of you would get a kick out of it.A few other Saint Names I found interesting:Lambert
Elmo
Isidore
Roque
Erasmus
GenesiusBernadine - I like this better than Bernadette
Thomais: I've never seen this before. The only feminine forms of Thomas that I knew of were Thomasina, Tomasa & Tamsin.
Therese
Josemaria
BenedictaThoughts? I'm not thinking of using any of these, save for Terese. I prefer to honor Saints that I admire - St. Terese, St. Theresa of Avila, St. Francis of Assisi, Thomas Aquinas, Thomas Merton (who isn't a saint but was a huge influence in the Catholic world)

There was a horse-racing correspondent once in an up-market weekly newspaper whose pen name was Thomas Equinus. He developed a very eccentric persona and gradually the racing tips got squeezed out in favour of his weekly round-up of his fictional life, until he went away. Don't let it put you off! But perhaps if you ever have a little Thomas who needs a sister, you might consider Philippa?

Avila+I know a young guy (age 17) who has Avila as one of his middle names. (the family customarily gives numerous midle names.)This boy was born disasterously tiny and premature, and strugled to live..he's fine now. He was born on the feast-day of Saint Theresa of Avila, and his parents decided NOT to call him Theresa, but wanted to honour the saint.

Would the end be pronounced like veen? That was my first instinct, and I think it's really pretty! If it's just like wine, though, I don't find it as elegant.I also like Isidore and Bernadine. Benedicta is neat, too, and it makes me think of Ave Maria (the line "Benedicta tu in mulieribus"), which is actually a really cool association given the meaning (which I had to look up because I know the Latin words but not the English ones, ha).
