What do you think of Lani?

I pronounce it LAH-nee would that be correct? It's Hawaiian as far as I know.

Do you think people might think of it as an alternative to Laney and pronounce it LAY-nee? Because I don't really like how it looks like a creative spelling of Laney. Is it too cutesy?

Is it popular in Hawaii? It surprises me a bit how popular Leilani is but Lani doesn't really seem common.

I've liked this name for years now and I'm surprised it isn't super popular. It seems like the type of name modern parents would go for. LAH-nee is the correct way to pronounce it too. I don't think people would automatically assume it's a creative spelling of Laney.

I think Lani is beautiful! I'm sure there would be a few people who pronounced it Laney but that should be an easy correct...besides, people can mispronounce nearly any name.

Might be cute to do Leilani as a full name with Lani as a nickname!
