[Opinions] Adeline or Abigail?
My mother and I are having a bit of a disagreement. First, I want to preface this by saying I am not pregnant nor do I plan to be anytime soon. We are simply playfully arguing. Who knows? My future child may be named neither. Anyway, we want to know which is cuter/prettier? Adeline nickname Addie or Abigail nickname Abby? I like both, I just love Adeline/Addie more. She does not. :-)

uuhhhhWell, I dislike Addie a lot more than Abby, but I like Adeline a lot more than Abigail.... so I don't know. How about Adeline "Abby". LOL.

I prefer Abigail nn AbbeyIt's a timeless classic and while Adeline is nice, it's just not as beautiful as Abigail

Definitely Adeline. Addie is an adorable nickname.Abigail is decent, but I prefer the sound of Adeline. Something has always seemed off about Abigail in my mind in terms of sound, and I'm not too fond of Abby.

Adeline! It's such a lovely name. Feminine but not frilly, a bit uncommon yet not pretentious in the least.Abigail is bland and uninspired in my opinion (but I wouldn't consider it a "bad" name).

Addie sounds sweeter than Abby to me and I DEFINITELY like Adeline more than Abigail. I knew a couple of Abby's who were pretty mean when I was little so I'm sure that's influencing my opinion, but still like Adeline "Addie" best.

I prefer Abigail. Adeline is OK. I don't really like Abby or Addie though.

I'm split. I prefer Abigail, but it's common here, so I'd lean toward Adeline if I were going to name a baby now. I thought of your nns when I saw the subject.

I like both a lot. But they appeal to me in different ways.
Abigail - traditional, proper and pretty without being frilly.
Adeline - spirited, stylish and again, pretty without the frills.I think I like Adeline a bit more :)

I like Adeline pr AD-uh-leen better. Abigail is kind blah and as someone pointed out once and I never forgot it it sounds like a big gal, like a fat girl. So since then I can never look at Abigail the same

Adeline for sure. Abigail is a big yawn.
