[Opinions] Re: Spergeon?

Spergeon is mostly likely a variant spelling of Spurgeon, which is a surname. Many, many people have surnames as their first name; the name still has the same origin.
Dictionary of American Family Names says, "English (mainly East Anglia): unexplained."
I don't know anymore named Spergeon or Spurgeon. I would only use it if I wanted to name a son after Charles Spurgeon, and even then it would only be a middle name.
