But why do you want to be Lauretta, Stan?Even though the character's name was spelled Loretta, but that's still the first thing it makes me think of!I do prefer the look of Lauretta. It looks much softer and more romantic. I get your vibe from it, makes sense.I'd say these combos are pretty charming:
Lauretta Catherine
Lauretta Enid
Lauretta Eugenie
Lauretta Frances
Lauretta Marguerite
Lauretta Mathilde
Lauretta Sibyl
Lauretta Winifred

Did Wordsmith say he wanted to be Lauretta? Did I miss something? And what character is Loretta? Sorry, I'm a little thrown off course by your response and want to join in the fun.I do agree that Lauretta is lovely.

Lauretta = Loretta, a name I never cared for. It sounds like a hulking, dull kind of gal with an empty expression on her face.

Have you ever seen old episodes of "Cheers?" It's a sitcom from the 80's. There's a minor character named Loretta (sp?). Her dunce of a husband thinks she's the height of sophistication and whenever he says her name he enunciates the heck out of it. The way he says the last syllable, "tuh" is too funny. Anyway, it made me love the name Loretta. But I can see where it would make most people dislike it. Her character was kind of a "dull gal with an empty expression on her face." Is that where you got your impression? Just curious.

I used to watch "Cheers", but it was years ago, so the character escapes me. Sounds funny, though. :)

I don't like it as much as Lorena, Laure or even Lauren, but it's nicer than Laurette and infinitely nicer than Laura, so I'd place it as a pretty okay name in the scale of things. I think it's pretty frilly so it doesn't need to grandiose a middle name, but that said, I am fond of:Lauretta Amandine - very pretty
Lauretta Clementine
Lauretta Ione
Lauretta Jane - surprisingly...
Lauretta Philomène
Lauretta Viviane - love!

I really like it because it's my grandmothers name. Though she spells it Loretta and I think I prefer that spelling.I think they all are lovely combos but my favorites are:Lauretta Clothilde
Lauretta Ingrid
Lauretta Margot
Lauretta Mathilde
Lauretta Sibyl
