[Opinions] noooo
Suzette is amazing! It's pert, snappy, and saucy. It does have a vixen-esque French flair, but why is that bad? Nambeberry is rubbish. Ignore those harpies.

NameberryI hadn't heard of nameberry.com until someone brought it up a few days ago. I went there and was had to leave quickly. The self-proclaimed expertese thing bugs me. And then to know that they are using their "powers" to down-play great names like Suzette is too much for this name nerd.

I remember reading in one of their books that they said that Zelda was the "red-haired hero of the Legend of Zelda series" or something to that effect.1) The hero of those games is Link, not Zelda - Zelda is the princess.
2) Link is really more a blonde than a redhead; there are a VERY few pieces of official art that give him sort of reddish hair but in everything else he's blonde.I couldn't take them seriously after that. If they're not going to even bother to do the research....

The sad thing is I really enjoyed their "Beyond Jennifer and Jason" series of books. They weren't nearly so snotty in those (maybe an editor told them to tone it down, or they weren't "famous" yet). I think they should have stuck to writing books, but then I guess they would only be regular millionaires instead of super-mega-millionaires.

To clarify on Name Berry, I am not sure if the site authors were responsible for the comment. In the name database, they say this about Suzette: "The name of the sexy French maid in a fifties movie -- so kitsch it's almost cool again." Elsewhere on the site is an article or blog post (?) titled Oh, Susannah! in which the poodle comment is made.It is not clear to me who writes which part of the site, so it may or may not be the work of the book authors.

I found the mentioned blog postAnd it is not tagged "Guest Blogger", nor is there a little blurb about who wrote it at the bottom-- meaning it was written by Pam or Linda. I suppose it might be possible that Pam wrote one thing and Linda wrote the other and they don't exactly see eye to eye. They write both the site descriptions and the blog, but sometimes the blog has guests. Though, I think sometimes the blog doesn't always line up with what the names say on the site either, regardless of who wrote it.

It could even depend on their mood at the time. That happens sometimes with conceited people.

I want you on my jury. You know how to give people the benefit of the doubt. Kudos. :-)
