Message: "Roniah" - Behind the Name

I just noticed that in 2010 a couple of girls received the name Roniah. I always liked Ronia (ro-NEE-a), but I like Roniah as well.

Opinions?

I think the H looks tacked on, I prefer Ronia.

I like it because it reminds me of biblical names like Elijah and Isaiah, I guess.

Roni is a Hebrew name which means "joyful song" or something similar, I don't remember exactly. I once found Ronia and Roniya in a book with Hebrew names and it seems to have the same meaning as Roni.

The Ronnie type names don't appeal to me, but if Ronia(h) were pronounced ROHN-ya, I'd like it. That has a much more pleasant sound. It's very sweet. I love long O sounds.

I pronounce it so the first syllable sounds like ROHN, not RON. With a long O. I don't like Ronnie either, but I kind of like Roni.

Ronia is ROHN-ya, but I'm not sure about Roniah. I guess it's roe-NEE-ah or roe-NY-ah. There were also some girls named Ronya and some named Roniya.

Would you pronounce it ro-NAY-ah? It's okay in my opinion, but it reminds me a little of the hardware store.

ro-NEE-ah, I guess. Or ro-NY-ah. Not quite sure, I've never seen it before. Only Ronia which I pronounce ROHN-ya.
