My mother is Nancy, as a nn for Anna. I can't separate the two. But I'd be just as delighted as you are. Nancy isn't a flashy name, but it's got a quirky, retro style and a lot of heart. I think of it as a WWII / 1950's era name. I'm hoping that's the next wave of names to come back into fashion.
I love Nan too, although that gives me more of a Tudor-England-Anne-Boleyn feeling.
