[Opinions] Pardon, Parson and Poteat
I was walking through an historic cemetery this weekend and happened across three very interesting names. Pardon and Parson on men and Poteat on a woman.
I kind of like Pardon, I don't mind Parson and I can't even imagine Poteat. WDYT?

I actually graduated from high school in 1991 with a girl named Poteet. She hated it, but there aren't really any good nicknames you can get out of that name. We shortened it to Pot sometimes, but never to Teet for obvious reasons!
Really? Wow! Did she ever say why she was named Poteet?

She said her dad read it in a book and convinced her mom to go along with it. It's also a surname.
Poteat makes me think of a teat....it doesn't sound that nice either.
Pardon is pretty cool- very Puritan virtue-y.

I really, really, really don't like Poteat.
I don't like Pardon and Parson, either. But at least I can see the appeal.

I like Parson! Sounds cool!
I can't imagine any of them actually being names. Poteat reminds me of 'peat' or 'petite'. Pardon and Parson just remind me of the English words. I think Pardon is the worst.
