Agatha is one of my absolute favorite names! Its sullen sophistication really tickles me.

I want to like it because of Agatha Christie. I just haven't found her in a combo that makes me love her though.

I like Agatha. I always thought it was an old lady name until I saw this movie called The Electric Grandmother when I was a kid-- the little girl's name is Agatha and the robot grandmother sings an "Agatha" song. After that it sounded really pretty. I like Aggie, too.

It took me a while, but I'm now in love with Agatha. I used to be put off by the "ag" sound. But I'm starting to prefer heavy "g" and "b" sounds in general. So Agatha is a nice change from the usual, sugary sounds in most popular names. Agnes and Aglaia too. It all came to a head when I saw the first "Nanny McPhee" (sp?) movie. The baby was named Agatha. I adore seeing "old lady" names on babies / small children. Nn Aggie became the cutest thing I'd heard in a long time. I have two quirky stock combos: Agatha Plum and Agatha Bluebell. I don't have a serious stock combo for it, though. If anyone has one, I'd love to hear it. :-D

I love Aglaia. Also Aglaé and Aglaë.

She's so pretty, from almost any angle. (I assume those are variants, right?)

Oooo! Agatha Plum is darling!

I just can't get past the "Hag-atha" idea. It's not a bad name by any means, it's just my nature to find a quick pun in a name.

it's pretty crunchy. I think it would take some doing to carry well. A friend of mine likes Agatha for a future daughter, so somehow that made it less storybook-haggy and more acceptable. The idea of a real-life Agatha. I hope she lets me call her Aggie.I have a go-to combo of Agatha Phoebe. I think Phoebe brightens Aggie nicely.

Oh, I love Agatha Phoebe!

Hagatha.I'm sorry, but I always want to stick an "H" in the front of it, just because I think it is a hopelessly ugly name. Brrrr.

LOL. I think of Hagatha as well. I've never been able to warm up to Agatha. The nickname Aggie is cute, but I can't tolerate Agatha. I prefer Agnes by far.

Me, too. Agnes = lovably quirky. Agatha = no alibi.

I fell in love with Agatha not too long ago. I didn't care for her at all up until I heard it on a young minor character on television. I love how 'English' it is. I suppose that's due to the association with Agatha Christie. =)It also pairs well--Agatha Rose
Agatha Hadley Rose
Agatha Mary
Agatha Victoria
Agatha Mary Victoria
Agatha Sophia Anne
Agatha Josephine
Agatha Beatrice
Agatha Cordelia
Agatha Hazel
Agatha Katherine
Agatha Constance
Agatha PatriceTruly adorable name!

Agatha Christie's name was Agatha Mary Clarissa, and I always liked that. :-)

It's just so classically pretty. =)

I don't really like Agatha. For some reason I associate it with wool. Agata is lighter and more graceful, almost balletic.
The Ag sound at the beginning is quite harsh too - I have the same problem with Agnes and Aglaia, although I prefer them both to Agatha.

I think it sounds like an old person name but I love it anyway.

I really like Agatha. Or used to. Then I heard someone pronounce it "Hag-atha" unintentionally... and well... :( That ruined it for me. :P

I like Agatha. It's lovely, old-fashioned, elegant and feminine. I dislike Aggie, though. Agda would be prettier nickname. But then, Agatha really doesn't need a nickname.

Agatha, yes. Aggie, however, a thousand times No. It's a beautifully 1930s name, demanding long evening dresses and elbow-length gloves.

I've always liked it. It's pretty adorable, but ages well and will feel mature on an adult. And I love the nn Aggie.

I like it! I could definitely see this on a dark haired little girl.
What combos do you like?
