[Opinions] Palmer?
This name has been on my mind lately, and I think it's a sweet name for a boy. What do you think? Is it too last-namey? Can you think of any good combos for the name Palmer?

It makes me think "What is this kid palming?"
So maybe I'm weird but it's the truth....

Palmer is a surname and nothing more

I have a little cousin named Palmer, so I have a good association. He's a great kid, and pulls it off very well. I like it because of him.

I like Palmer a lot--a good alternative to Connor & Jasper, which have become overused. It does have a soft overtone, like Seth or Daniel, that might create a more sensitive guy. Good with nearly any name in the middle.

I first heard this name on a TV show where it was the name of a girl, I remember not liking it because I thought it was far too masculine. But on a boy it's a lot better and I think it could definitely work.Palmer Vincent
Palmer Henry
Palmer William
Palmer Louis
Palmer Matthias

[sorry - posted in wrong place!]
Usually, I dislike using surnames as first names unless they relate to actual surnames in the child's ancestry.
I also dislike using surnames such as Tyler or Porter because they're occupational, and the kid so named probably won't be a tiler or a porter!
But although Palmer means a person who returned from the Crusades with a palm branch, it can be interpreted nore widely as "pilgrim" so it actually gets my vote as a first name!
It's very pleasant-sounding.
